When it comes to driving with open containers, there’s one man who always gets a pass. George Randall, St. Louis resident, and owner of retail liquor stores, rides around the streets of his city in a vehicle that is literally an open container! A.J. Baime of The Wall Street Journal writes, that the car was built in the 1990s by a distributor of Old Milwaukee as a promotional vehicle for Old Milwaukee Light. It’s built on a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle frame with a Beetle engine. The car has beer-tap handles for side-view mirrors, beer-tap handles for turn signals, and its nose holds a pony keg with ice.
Randall purchased the car from eBay for $2000 about 6 years ago. He admits he gets some flak for driving the Milwaukee car while living in a suburb of St. Louis, the home of Anheuser-Busch. Some say he should be driving a Budweiser car instead. Interestingly enough, Randall isn’t much of a beer drinker, but he loves his beer can car. Click here to view the article.
