President Signs Law Repealing Outdated Dealer Certification Mandate

On June 9, 2014, the President signed into law an NADA-backed bipartisan bill unanimously passed by Congress which repeals a 1977 mandate requiring auto dealers to provide light-duty new vehicle purchasers with a form certifying compliance with the Clean Air Act. The certification language was redundant with disclosures in the owner’s manuals and under-hood stickers of light-duty vehicles. Read More
